Fowlers Patent / Vacola (Within shield) / No 15 / Home Preserving Jar. Base Embossing: L537 / M / AGM. Lid Embossing: Fowler's / Patent. Household Jar 15 oz. Clear. 75 mm, not including lid.. late 1920s-1930s
Excellent. The upper lip has the usual usage marks. There are five external flakes which are very shallow and small. Internally there are about ten or so flakes, the largest is at the front and is 9 x 5 mm in total, the flaking part is much smaller, but there is a ding like horseshoe mark below this, again a shallow one. There are similar marks to the rear, two are slightly smaller and the third is much smaller. The upper lip has a few fine flakes as well. These are all pretty standard for a jar of this type, and being so shallow do not downgrade the condition a great deal at all. The rest of the jar is exceptionally good, with only a slight bit of light wear to the centre under the base from usage. There are a couple of light scratches to the jar. The lid is good, slightly dirty, it has a small ding to the upper part, 2 x 2 mm and an impact mark under the lid, again about 2 x 2 mm. A nice, rare size of this jar in good condition. Grade: 8.1 Estimate: $150 - 200
