Sold for A$20

Harrods / Prize Dairy / Stilton Cheese / In Jars, all within fancy scroll shield border. Potters Mark: Difficult to discern: Doulton & Co / Pottery / Lambeth? Household Cheese Jar 1 Pound, ink stamp two tone pottery jar, without lid. 132 mm. 1910s

Very Good. There are two manufacturing blow outs in the pottery. One on the side just at the edge of the brown colour is 8 x 9 mm and the other is on the other side half way down, this is only 6 x 3 mm. There is a glaze flake from the lip, 3 x 2 mm and another 3 x 1 mm. The rear lip has an impact crack, this is open for a tiny bit, then runs as a fine glaze crack about 20 mm each way along the top of the lip. Internally the lip has some minor nibbles in a few sections. Under the base there is a shallow chip, 13 x 5 mm, and a lump of slag seems to be stuck to the base as well. There is some minor discoloured crazing to the rear. This does not come with a lid. Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $20 - 30
