No embossing. Lower part of bottle has six gothic style arches. Shoulder and lower neck then has elongated diamond shaped scalloped panels before a long straight neck and early flared out lip. Base mark = Registration Diamond dated 20th March, 1846 registered to Anthony Thatcher, Yorkshire Bottle Co., Pontrefract. Goldfields Salad Oil 13oz Pale aqua, crude applied flared lip. 266mm. 1846-1850s
Very Good. Appearance is dull but this stain generally is only light and just on the surface with no deeper pitting or marks. Internally is some stain which needs a good clean. There is an under lip chip that appears to be part of manufacture before the lip was added as the glass of the lip “flows” down over the top of this chip. There is a shallow open surface bubble from manufacture, this is small. Otherwise this bottle is a lovely solid example in original condition. Grade: 7 Estimate: $150 - 250
