Giant Glass Demijohn in octagonal wooden crate. Label on shoulder of the bottle: Grazcos. The Graziers Co-op Shearing Company Limited. Sent to McCombe esq, Casterton Vic. Side of crate stamped F. G. & D. (Felton, Grimwade & Duerdins). M. Melbourne. Made in England. (Victoria) (Too big for post). Wine. Bulk. Really huge glass demijohn. Octagonal wooden crate. Still original packing straw and the like. About 570 x 445 mm. 1930s
Excellent. (N/A). A great piece. Bottle looks fine but I haven't dragged it out as that would likely mess up the packing straw etc. Big applied top. Label on the shoulder is faded and worn but some key details remain. Crate is pretty good with rust on the bands around it. Print is on one panel and fairly clear. A most unusual piece, you often see these big demijohns without any associated history with them so this is particularly nice with the crate and label. (Too big for post). Estimate: $100-200
