Good. (6.2). Handle has broken off. Some discoloured glaze wear around the body, mainly in a wide band around the mid body and another band around the lower body. Sliver type mark to right rear base edge looks to be a making mark. Discoloured scratch to right rear lower body. Some other scratches and spots of wear to the body. Quite a decent example of an exceptionally rare demijohn. In Auction 31 we sold another example, at the time it was the only one known and had a large piece of the lip missing and a large base chip. Looks to be about 1920s, but could be either side, as this store was in Goolwa from 1852 until this present day I believe! This is by far better condition than the only other example we are aware of.. Estimate: $500-750
