Excellent (8.0). Tiny lip nick. Inner dirt will soak out. Neck is crudely pushed in on one side giving it a lean, this is from making. A few deep scratches at top of schnapps panel. Small 3 x 2 mm flake to edge of Castle panel, around from this to edge of side panel is a small flake. Couple of nibbled marks down from the flake on the Castle panel edge. Tiny open bubble to one corner on upper body. A few fine fisheyes and impact marks. Some scratches and little scuff marks. Superb wood panelled effect throughout. A great and rare Melbourne bottle. Matthew Lang & Co were taken to court by Joel Burke Wolfe, son of Udolpho Wolfe in 1887for an infringement of his trade mark in the words, "Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps", claiming the public had been deceive into buying Lang's Castle Brand Schnapps! Matthew Lang & Co were Wine & Spirit Merchants in Melbourne. A rare Melbourne schnapps bottle, this is the first we have sold. EST: $100 - 150
